To wear or not to wear a mask – a heated debate

There are a couple of things I would like to talk about, one of them being sensitivity.

I’m in several homeschooling communities on FB, all of the ones I’m aware of. I need to ensure I specify that there’s a difference in homeschooling, and the virtual school at home a lot of the kids are doing, or did, because of the quarantine. People homeschool for many reasons, and they create their own curriculums, kids are learning and are passing tests and gaining critical thinking skills, and mom’s are getting very creative and share all sorts of gems with each other. Sometimes they even share parenting techniques, and share about how people who send their kids to public school shame them all the time. There is a stigma that homeschool kids are lacking, I have to disagree, from my research I have found that there is a lack of education and critical thinking for the kids who go to public school.

These are my opinions, not how I think others should raise their own kids, not at all. It’s not up to me how others do what they do, my responsibility is my 2 boys, that’s it.

That being said, there was a ruckus in the homeschooling community last night, because of masks. Now, I have to say that this is the first I see this community divide on an issue like it did, moms here usually have each others backs. The post that started it all was a coloring book with little bunnies wearing masks. Well, some of the moms, myself included, didn’t like this, and we voiced our concern. There were so many educated moms our there, explaining thoroughly and scientifically why the masks don’t work, and how they are bad for us with prolonged use, and how they’re only meant for those who are already sick. These moms explained this better than I could. I had my opinions too of course, about how I take care of myself, how a good immune system fights off disease, how those who are really worried about getting sick should stay home and keep from seeing people who’ve been out and about. I respect this virus, but I’m not afraid of it, nor do I believe that anyone else should be either. Why? Because with fasting and following a strict plant based diet by Dr. Sebi can supply us with impeccable immune systems that disease wouldn’t be able to live in such a healthy environment. Every single one of us can experience this, even those among us with illnesses. But this is just my opinion, and I’m allowed to have one, and not everyone has to agree with it, just like not everyone has to wear a mask.

That was the opposition, those of us who don’t wear masks are selfish and don’t care about those who are sick.

People were freaking out. This is just my perception from my point of view: I have to separate so as not to confuse the 2, the mask wearers and the non-mask wearers. Us non-mask wearers were explaining science, I didn’t see anyone being rude, yet the mask wearers were calling us rude, and saying we were acting like children, and saying they couldn’t believe we were educating children. It got heated. I’m not making any of this up, I have seen other people talk about how people are being rude so I have made an effort to try and stay calm in situations like these. It’s not my intention to “stir” the pot, even though that’s what many seem to think of me, they are allowed to their opinions too! My intention is to bring light to an otherwise clouded situation. Which is what we did, we provided science. Someone told me, “this is the most selfish thing I’ve ever heard”, when I said that a good immune system fights off disease, she said people are DYING. Like that, in all caps. I said that there are both natural and pharmaceutical therapies that are proving to work, such as CBD and anti-viral mushrooms from Paul Stamets, and there’s hydrochloroquine that many doctors have said has worked for lots of their patients, and there’s quinine and zinc, and there’s baking soda as it makes the blood alkaline and disease cannot live in an alkaline environment. This is essentially what Dr. Sebi does is create an alkaline environment. And then I talked about how the doctors are currently receiving $30k for every death they claim to be covid, how suddenly no one is dying from anything else like heart disease, the number one killer, how a guy who died from sky diving was claimed to have been a covid death. And my saying this is rude?

There was a woman demanding that an admin step in.

I was so looking forward to rereading everything all the moms said the following morning, and seeing who all agreed with me because my comments received over 25 likes within minutes, and seeing what the opposition had to say too, I wanted to see it all with a fresh mind…but the post was deleted.

I had to realize that some people don’t want the truth, even if it comes from a credible source, even if it makes perfect sense, they can’t take it. They would then have to question everything else in their lives I suppose…

I need to also make sure that I point out that I’m not trying to impose my beliefs on anyone else, when I try and talk about it, that’s what people tend to believe. But even during this quarantine, I haven’t pushed on others how they should be parenting their kids. I shared a video of a woman on the Board of Education and she talked about the corruption within the Board, how they only want worker bees not critical thinkers, that was me shedding light on a cloudy situation, not telling anyone else what to do, otherwise I would have said so. I believe I deserve the same respect on whether or not I wear a mask, and if someone makes me feel like the bad guy for not wearing one, I think it’s fair to ask that person to prove to me scientifically how my wearing a mask will keep others healthy. Where do we draw the line? Why is this ok?

I mean to unite, not divide, yet I can’t fold and harm my health or that of my kids when I hear of others kids who are complaining of headaches, that one breaks my heart. I take care of myself, spiritually as well, fear is faith inverted and I have faith not fear. No one gets to tell me what to do, or make me out to be the bad guy for not complying. If someone smeared my name, I would be inclined to defend my name., anybody would.

If you get to tell me that I have to wear a mask, I get to tell you what you are eating today, that you are going to get some exercise, and spend some time in the sun. Does that sound fair?

This excludes places of business, whether or not we choose to participate isn’t ours to decide where this choice is being made already by a mandate. Though I have to refer back to the ant theory, if we all refused to do so, what could they do? I don’t mean to start fights with employees, I mean those passing said mandates.

To conclude, the last person to post said it best, it’s our individual choice what we decide to do.

My love for humanity, and for the planet, has set me on a path of healing through love, compassion, and understanding. I'm originally from a big city in the big state of Texas, making my personality quite large. I then landed in a small town that's out-of-puzzles gorgeous where people still wave at each other when coming across each other in the street. This transition has helped my development and tried relationships with distance and sacrifice. I have 2 beautiful boys, Silas and Declan, and their loving father, Curtis, who make my world go round. My political views all stem from wanting to protect this beauty in all its forms.
